ramsey has a

time machine

Collaborating with Upright Citizens Brigade alum and childhood friend, Ramsey Ess, we produced a 10-episode web series of historic proportions. The series follows the misadventures of an idiot who uses the power of time travel for selfish reasons and makes history along the way.

With a $1,500 tax return and a creative relationship lasting 15+ years, Ramsey and I were able to bring his vision to life. Transforming friends from the New York comedy scene into historical figures using practical costumes and locations.

Ramsey Has a Time Machine was repeatedly featured in Vulture’s This Week In Web Videos column, including a full-interview with creator Ramsey Ess. After a successful six-month run at Channel 101 NY, we went into production on a four-episode second season featuring guest star Chris Elliott.

Behind the scenes, we created a smooth-running set that encouraged new ideas and collaboration. Our small crew came to every shoot prepared with storyboards and a DIY mentality. This gave actors the opportunity to nail their dialogue before running some improvs and make-em-ups.
